What cameras do we install?

AI cameras that tell people and vehicles apart from headlights and branches, recording on events by default, with continuous recording as an option, viewable from your phone. Small Ajax-only systems use Ajax Cloud for the Video DoorBell and IndoorCam; any site with more than four cameras runs on the video platform Rivas Technology Group built and operates. We recommend event-based recording: it captures what matters and keeps retention costs down. Every plan plays back at 4MP.

Ajax cameras join the same app as the intrusion system. Any ONVIF camera you already own can be brought onto the cloud platform, so a working camera is not thrown away.

Retention plans set the history you keep, with people and license-plate search, and there is no recorder on site to fail. An on-site NVR is available where local recording is required. Coverage is mapped to your floor plan before anything is mounted: register, bar, kitchen line, back door, dumpster corral, parking. You decide who sees footage: owner, general manager and any named staff, each with their own login, each revocable.

A site still under construction has no power to wire to; that is construction site security. Wired cameras give permanent coverage on one cable for power and video; wireless fills spots cable cannot reach. Cabling runs through commercial infrastructure, and a site with no power or internet gets a solar security tower. For a Kent business, the city's camera registry is voluntary and the police department states it will not have remote access to your cameras (City of Kent).

How does access control work?

A credential is read at the door, the controller checks whether that person may enter at that time, the lock releases, and the event is logged. We install Akuvox intercom and access hardware as an Akuvox certified intercom installer (ACIA and ACII). Credentials can be a face, an RFID card or fob, a PIN, a time-limited QR code or a phone. Each employee carries their own credential; cleaners and vendors get a code that expires; a lost fob is revoked in the app instead of rekeying the building.

The audit log answers who opened which door and when, which is the question a manager asks after a shortage. Industry figures put a professionally installed access-controlled door typically at $1,500 to $3,500, or $3,000 to $5,000 with first-year licensing (Safe and Sound Security). Our price per door depends on the existing door hardware, the reader, and the cable run. The proposal itemizes each door. What does intrusion detection and monitoring include?

An Ajax hub, contacts on doors and windows, motion detectors, MotionCam photo detectors, keypads, sirens and outdoor detectors at the property line, reporting to Becklar, a UL-listed central station. Hub 2 Plus supports up to 200 users and keeps Ethernet, Wi-Fi and two cellular SIM channels open (Hub 2 Plus). A cut line at the demarc does not stop the report. An owner with three locations manages all of them from one account.

Hub Hybrid 2 adds wired Fibra lines for larger buildings and for new construction. Staff arm and disarm by keypad, fob or phone under their own user, so you know who opened at 6 a.m. and who forgot to arm at close. Outdoor MotionCam and curtain detectors catch someone at the fence before they reach a door. The hub polls every device at an interval between 12 and 300 seconds, so a tampered detector is reported at once (Hub 2 manual).

For the lot, the yard and the fence line after close, remote video monitoring puts a live guard behind the cameras you choose.

What does an intercom add?

A way to see and talk to whoever is at the door, and to let them in, from anywhere. The Akuvox X912S carries face recognition, five access methods, a 1080p camera and smart building integration, so a receptionist buzzes a courier from a desk phone.

For a multi-tenant building each tenant gets their own credential and their own view of the gate. For an office the after-hours cleaner uses a code that stops working at 6 a.m. Doorbell installation for a business is an intercom job: it replaces the buzzer with a device that records the visit and logs who opened.

What happens when a verified commercial alarm goes off?

An operator sees what the camera saw before anyone is dispatched. Five steps:

1. Motion after hours. A MotionCam reads a human-sized heat signature and signals the hub.
2. Photo series within 9 seconds. The first image arrives within 9 seconds, followed by a short series (MotionCam).
3. The hub keeps reporting. If the internet line is cut, Hub 2 Plus is already reporting over two cellular SIM channels (Hub 2 Plus).
4. The operator verifies. The central station reviews the photos and confirms a person, not a delivery driver at the wrong door.
5. Dispatch with a description. Police are called with what the camera showed, and you get the same photos on your phone.

What drives the cost?

Door count, camera count, cabling runs, cloud recording plan, the number of intrusion devices, and whether an intercom is in scope. One access-controlled entry with two cameras is a small job. A full facility is a large one. That means cameras on every side, intrusion in every zone, access on every door, an intercom at the gate and the network to carry it all. A permit and licensed trade partners come with it.

Self-monitoring through the app is free; professional monitoring is month to month with no contract; you own every device. Existing ONVIF cameras and door hardware that meet spec are taken over rather than replaced. A site assessment produces a written scope, or the instant quote gives a first figure.

Who monitors it?

A UL-listed central station, staffed 24 hours a day, receives every alarm together with its photo series; UL 827 is the standard such stations are certified against (UL Solutions). The operator verifies, calls your contact list in the order you set, and dispatches police or fire. Response terms are written into the proposal. Where a city requires alarm registration, we handle it: in Tacoma the alarm company pays the annual device fee for each customer (City of Tacoma). The station is named in your proposal, and you can call it before you sign.

Which industries do we secure?

Restaurants and bars, retail, professional offices, contractors and warehouses, multi-tenant buildings and HOAs, and medical and professional services. A restaurant gets cameras on the bar, kitchen and cash areas, after-hours intrusion with photo alerts, and staff entry by fob. Retail gets MotionCam on the sales floor and remote arm and disarm. An office gets Akuvox entry with access logs and shared access for staff, cleaners and vendors. A contractor's yard gets outdoor MotionCam at the perimeter and cellular reporting without internet. An HOA gets gate intercoms, common-area cameras and per-tenant credentials. A clinic gets restricted-area access with audit logs and cameras on entrances and storage. Conference rooms and PoE lighting for the same building are on boardroom AV and commercial PoE lighting.

Which projects can you look at?

Three, each with its own page. Clyde's Southern Wood Fired BBQ: inventory and equipment were leaving and the old cameras could not show who was there. We designed Ajax AI bullet cameras around the actual risk areas, recording around the clock and alerting on people and vehicles rather than branches. The losses stopped.

South Sound Law Group: a secure, documented office network rebuilt with enterprise routing and full-coverage Wi-Fi, with client data segmented and remote support from the team that built it. Washington Pottery Company: enterprise routing, Wi-Fi across the facility and VoIP phones under our CURATOR remote care plan. Cameras and the hub ride on the network, which is why two of the three are network jobs. Binaytara, Bellevue: UniFi Access on three office doors, programmed into the UniFi stack the office already ran.
