What do we build?

Dedicated theaters, media rooms and whole-home audio, designed as one system with the lighting and shades around them. A dedicated theater is a dark room built for the picture. It has a projector and screen sized to the seating distance, and surround speakers placed by the room's dimensions. Acoustic treatment goes where the measurements say it belongs, with tiered seating and a remote that runs all of it.

A media room is a family room that also has to work at noon. It gets a large TV or laser TV, an ambient-light-rejecting screen, in-ceiling surround, and shades that close when the movie starts. Whole-home audio is music in the kitchen, the deck, the primary bath and the office, each its own zone. All three are part of the residential hub, and the theater is the room where Control4 earns its keep.

What does one button do?

"Movie Night" dims the lights to 5 percent, closes the shades, lowers the screen, starts the projector, sets the receiver to the right input and queues the source. The "Game Day" scene brings the lights up, raises the screen and switches the TV and surround to sports. The "Music" scene retracts the screen, sets ambient light and starts the zones you chose. The "Intermission" scene brings the lights up and holds the projector where you left it.

Each scene lives on a Control4 remote, a keypad by the door and the app. The same scenes respond to the house: the doorbell pauses the film, the alarm arming turns the room off. The AVA Cinema Remote, a machined-aluminum handheld with an edge-to-edge touchscreen, runs the theater on its own. We built a webhook link so its buttons fire Control4 scenes across the rest of the house.

Projector, laser TV or a large display?

A projector and screen for a room you can darken and a picture of 120 inches or more; a laser TV or a large display for a room with windows. Ultra-short-throw laser projectors sit inches from the wall and pair with an ambient-light-rejecting screen, which is how a bright family room gets a 100-inch picture without a ceiling mount.

TVs from 75 to 120 inches have their own page at large format display, including the Leica Cine 1 laser TV. We measure seating distance, ceiling height and daylight before recommending either, and we mount, conceal the cable and calibrate the picture in the room it lives in.

How does whole-home audio work?

A multi-zone amplifier in the rack feeds in-ceiling and in-wall speakers, and every room plays its own source or joins the others. The streaming amplifiers we install have AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect and Alexa built in. You pick music from the apps you already use with no proprietary app and no subscription.

Zones group and split from a phone, a keypad or a voice command through Josh.ai. Speakers are matched to each room: architectural in-ceiling models where the room should look empty, bookshelf or floor-standing models where sound comes first. We are a Cambridge Audio authorized retailer1, and we install Bowers & Wilkins, Klipsch, DALI, TruAudio, Phase Technology and Bluesound. The deck and the yard continue on outdoor living.

What drives the cost?

Room size, the display, speaker count, acoustic treatment, seating and how much cable the walls allow. As of September 2026, a dedicated media room with a quality projector, screen, surround sound and control starts in the mid five figures installed. That includes design, the projector and screen, surround speakers and amplification, mounting, concealed cabling, calibration and Control4 programming.

A media room built around a large TV, in-ceiling surround and a streaming amplifier costs less; a reference theater with acoustic treatment, tiered seating and a laser projector costs more. Whole-home audio is priced per zone, and a house that already has a Control4 controller and a rack pays less to add rooms. Ranges are on smart home installation cost, and the instant quote gives you a number in a few minutes.

How does the project run?

Walk-through, design, install, calibration, then a walkthrough with the remote in your hand. On the walk-through we measure the room, note windows, seating and how you use it, and send a fixed proposal. Our own team pulls the cable, mounts the display or projector, places the speakers, builds and labels the rack, calibrates picture and sound, and programs the scenes.

Afterward you have a 90-day workmanship warranty, support at published rates, and the optional CURATOR plan, which monitors the rack and fixes most issues remotely. Golf simulator rooms use the same trades and have their own page at indoor golf simulator AV.

Where do we install theaters and audio?

Pierce County and south King County, from 415 Railroad Ave S in Kent, about 25 to 30 minutes from Tacoma. That covers Tacoma, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, University Place, Bonney Lake, Tehaleh and Sumner.
