Most landscape audio is engineered to disappear. The Rockustics Cherry Bomb Galaxy is engineered to stand up — a bollard that announces itself in your landscape and then delivers full-range, phase-coherent sound from a single enclosure. It's the first thing people notice. It's the reason nobody asks to turn it up.

Cherry Bomb Galaxy

The Galaxy is the newest generation of the Cherry Bomb — a full three-way system integrating a dual-chamber bandpass subwoofer, 4.5" midrange, and tweeter into a single direct-burial bollard. It reaches 38 Hz without a separate subwoofer, without a buried woofer in the lawn. One enclosure. One hole. Your guests will ask what it is before the first song ends.

Every yard is different.
The system follows the site.

We don't sell a single landscape audio solution. We assess your property — yard size, shape, hardscape, planting beds, existing conduit, listening zones — and specify the right combination of products for how you actually use the space. The Cherry Bomb Galaxy is our first recommendation when the install allows it. For other applications, we carry a full lineup.

Rockustics

Cherry Bomb Galaxy CBG5

Our primary recommendation for open lawn installations. A full three-way bollard speaker with integrated subwoofer delivering 38 Hz without any separate enclosure. Visible by design — stands in your landscape as an architectural element and fills the entire yard with phase-coherent sound.

Bowers & Wilkins · Klipsch · DALI

Premium Satellite & In-Ground Systems

For installations where a discreet approach is preferred, we specify satellite-and-subwoofer landscape systems from B&W, Klipsch, and DALI. Compact satellite speakers positioned in planting beds, aimed at the listening area, with a buried subwoofer delivering low-frequency extension. Disappears into the landscape completely.

In-Ceiling · Eave-Mount

Covered Patio & Overhead Systems

Under a covered patio, pergola, or eave, in-ceiling or surface-mount speakers deliver precise stereo coverage directly to the listening area. Combined with the lawn system, covered patio speakers ensure consistent coverage from seating to grass without volume gaps at the transition.

Where We Install

Every zone of your
outdoor space.

01
Primary Zone

Open Lawn & Backyard

The main outdoor entertaining area. Cherry Bomb Galaxy bollards positioned at the perimeter of the lawn, aimed inward, deliver even coverage across the listening area with no hot spots at the speaker positions and no drop-off at the far end of the yard. Typically two units cover up to 3,000 square feet of open lawn.

02
Secondary Zone

Covered Patio & Pergola

In-ceiling or eave-mount speakers under the covered portion of the patio deliver consistent stereo coverage to your primary seating area. This zone operates independently of the lawn system or in sync — you control the blend from the Control4 interface.

03
Tertiary Zone

Pool Deck & Spa Area

Pool areas require speakers positioned for coverage from the deck edge and the water. Satellite speakers in the planting beds around the pool, with buried subwoofer positioned for even bass coverage across the entire pool deck. All speakers are marine-grade or outdoor-rated for splash and humidity exposure.

04
Whole Property

Multi-Zone Whole-Property Audio

For larger properties with multiple entertainment areas — fire pit, side yard, front entry, driveway — we design multi-zone amplifier systems where each area operates independently. Music can follow you from zone to zone, or each area plays different content simultaneously. All zones integrate into Control4 for unified control.

Why Rivas Technology Group

Sound designed for
your property.

"Landscape audio fails when it's spec'd from a product catalog instead of a site walk. Speaker count, placement angle, burial depth, amplifier power — every decision depends on the actual geometry of the yard. Get it wrong on paper and no amount of EQ fixes it after the wire is in the ground." — Ivan Rivas · Owner & Sales Engineer, Rivas Technology Group

Every landscape audio system we install starts with a site assessment — yard dimensions, listening zones, hardscape layout, planting bed locations, existing conduit, and how you actually use the space. Speaker count and placement are calculated, not guessed. The wire goes in the ground once.

Site-Driven Design

Speaker placement calculated from your yard's actual dimensions and listening geometry — not a standard package.

Our Process

From site walk
to first song.

01
Phase One

Site Assessment

We walk your property. Yard dimensions, listening zones, hardscape layout, existing conduit, planting bed positions, amplifier location. Everything documented before a speaker is specified.

02
Phase Two

System Design

Speaker selection, placement coordinates, burial depth, wire routing, amplifier specification, Control4 zone configuration, and a fixed-scope proposal. You know exactly what you're getting.

03
Phase Three

Installation

Trenching, wire burial, speaker installation, amplifier rack, Control4 programming. All work done by our team — no subcontractors. Wire buried at correct depth, conduit where required, waterproof connections throughout.

04
Phase Four

Commissioning

Amplifier configuration, zone naming, volume matching between zones, Control4 scene programming, and a walkthrough. Every zone plays correctly before we leave the property.

Straight Answers

Frequently Asked.

How much does landscape audio installation cost in the South Sound?

Landscape audio ranges from $3,500 for a basic covered patio system to $32,000+ for a full multi-zone property. A single Cherry Bomb Galaxy unit installed with amplifier and Control4 integration typically runs $7,500–$10,000 depending on wire run lengths and existing infrastructure. We provide a detailed proposal after a free site assessment.

What is the Rockustics Cherry Bomb Galaxy?

The Cherry Bomb Galaxy is a full three-way landscape audio bollard — dual-chamber bandpass subwoofer, 4.5" midrange, and tweeter in a single direct-burial enclosure. It reaches 38 Hz without a separate subwoofer, stands visibly in your landscape as a design element, and delivers full-range phase-coherent sound across your entire yard from one enclosure per unit.

How are landscape speakers installed?

Landscape speakers use direct-burial outdoor-rated wire run underground from the amplifier to each speaker position. Cherry Bomb Galaxy bollards are set into the ground at the correct depth and angle. All wire is buried at proper depth, with conduit used wherever wires cross under pavers, concrete, or other hardscape. We handle all trenching, burial, and restoration.

Can landscape audio be integrated with Control4?

Yes — as a Control4 Gold Dealer, we integrate your outdoor audio into your existing Control4 system as a named zone. It's part of the same interface as every other room. One tap activates the outdoor scene — music starts, volume sets, lighting shifts, display comes on. You don't touch a separate app.

How many speakers do I need for my backyard?

It depends on your yard's size, shape, and the speaker's coverage pattern. Two Cherry Bomb Galaxy units typically cover up to 3,000 square feet of open lawn. We calculate exact positioning based on your yard's dimensions during the site assessment — speaker count is never guessed.

Do landscape speakers work in the Pacific Northwest rain?

Yes. Every speaker we specify for outdoor installation is rated for full weather exposure — rain, humidity, UV, and temperature cycling. We also install for PNW conditions specifically — drainage around burial points, conduit under hardscape, waterproof connections, and sealed enclosures at junction points.

What amplifiers do you use?

We primarily specify LEA Professional network-connected amplifiers — reliable multi-channel power, full Control4 integration, and designed for always-on residential AV systems. For simpler systems, Sonance and similar brands are also specified depending on zone count and requirements.
