What goes in first in a Bonney Lake home?
Security, and in Bonney Lake that usually means retiring a legacy alarm for one that shows you a photo. The Ajax hub goes in with door and window sensors, a keypad and cameras over the driveway. Lake Tapps is waterfront, with south-facing glass, docks and long yards, so the list there reads motorized shades, outdoor audio, dock cameras and Wi-Fi that holds at the waterline. The older streets around downtown Bonney Lake and the newer Canyon Road builds are retrofits. Ajax in place of a legacy alarm, Control4 dimmers in the existing boxes, wired access points in place of the mesh kit.

Because a Lake Tapps lot is long, and every camera, keypad, speaker and shade has to reach the router across it. We survey the property, run Cat6A to wired access points indoors and to one outdoor access point on the lake side, and test coverage at the waterline before we leave. The router is the Island Router, wired, with no subscription4, and the access points are Ruckus or Alta Labs. Shades, theater, audio and exterior lighting
South-facing Lake Tapps glass wants shades that track the sun; Tehaleh's open great rooms want speaker placement engineered for the room instead of a soundbar. Established homes get in-ceiling speakers on a single cable run, a theater starts with one button, and music plays on the dock. Permanent lighting along the eaves runs holiday and game-day colors from the same app, and JellyFish is the brand we install most. A Tehaleh pre-wire at framing is the cheapest cable you will ever buy; a Lake Tapps home with a dock adds an outdoor access point and cameras.
