What our Control4 driver adds
Rivas Technology Group wrote and supports this Control4 driver for the X910 alone, not a general intercom driver. It brings both cameras and the X910's on-board smart detections into Control4, so a person at the door or a package on the step becomes a Control4 event, and it puts the X910's own settings in Composer. One driver per X910.
Dual cameras and package detection
The 5 MP wide main camera (150°) and the 2 MP auxiliary camera that powers package detection both play live in the Control4 app. In a recent Control4 app the step view shows as an inset over the main view.
PoE power and 2 relays for the door
One Ethernet cable powers the X910 over 802.3at PoE. Either relay opens from Control4 programming or from the Control4 app during a call. The driver sends the command over your local network.
Answer on the touchscreen we install
The call button rings the in-wall Akuvox or Akubela touchscreen we install, with two-way video and audio. Control4 touchscreens and the Control4 app ring too, and a button press is a Control4 event.
Events and scenes you can program
Doorbell pressed, person detected, package left, call answered or ended, card accepted or refused, relays and door inputs each fire a Control4 event that can run a scene.
History with pictures
Each event lands in Control4 History with a still from the right camera. With an NVR recording the X910, the entry plays the NVR's clip of the moment.
The X910 set up from Composer
The X910's own settings show in Composer: detection zones and schedules, lights, relays, call options and which relay opens for cards, NFC and Bluetooth. Add users and pair cards there too. Each change is checked by reading the panel back.
A package is reported once it has stayed on the step for 20 seconds, so a passing foot or dog is ignored. The driver runs free for 14 days from install, then needs a license key.

Questions about this product
Does the Akuvox X910 work with Control4?
Yes, two ways. Akuvox publishes a free general driver for its intercom range3. Ours is built only for the X910 and is written and supported by Rivas Technology Group. It brings both cameras into Control4 and turns the X910's on-board smart detections into Control4 events. More on Control4 smart home.
Is the X910 PoE powered?
Yes. One Ethernet cable carries power and network over 802.3at PoE, so there is no separate power supply at the door. Its 2 relays drive an electric strike or a gate, and its 2 inputs take a door contact or a gate's status output.
How does package detection work?
The 2 MP auxiliary camera looks down at the step and powers package detection. Akuvox alerts through its indoor monitors and the SmartPlus app. With our driver, Control4 gets a package-left event once a package has stayed on the step for 20 seconds, so you can program a light, an announcement or a notification.
What cards and credentials does it support?
Mifare, DESFire EV1, EV2 and EV3, and Felica cards on its 13.56 MHz reader, NFC on Android phones, Bluetooth 5.0, QR codes and the SmartPlus app1. It holds 20,000 users and 100,000 cards. For cards across a building's doors, see commercial access control.
Where do I answer the door?
On the in-wall touchscreen we install, usually an Akuvox S567 or Akubela HyPanel Pro, with two-way video and audio, or in the SmartPlus app. With our driver, Control4 touchscreens and the Control4 app ring too, and the door opens from Control4.
How is the X910 different from a consumer video doorbell?
The X910 is a wired, commercial-grade door station. It runs on PoE over one cable, drives 2 relays for a strike or gate, reads cards, NFC phones, Bluetooth and QR codes, and is rated IP66 for weather and IK08 for impact. It speaks SIP and ONVIF, so it works with intercom monitors and video recorders.
Can Rivas Technology Group install it in the South Sound?
Yes. Rivas Technology Group is based in Kent and installs across King, Pierce and Thurston counties, as an Akuvox certified installer (ACIA and ACII) and a Control4 Authorized Dealer, listed on Control4's integrator map. Call (425) 954-6003 or email sales@rivastechgroup.com to plan the install.
Does the X910 need Control4?
No. It is a SIP door station that also works with Akuvox indoor monitors and the SmartPlus app4. Our driver is what puts it in the Control4 app and in Control4 programming. The rest of the range is on our Akuvox intercom page.
Does the X910 suit an apartment building?
At one entry with one call destination, such as a side door or a leasing office. A lobby with a tenant directory takes an Akuvox R29, X915 or X916, covered on our multifamily security page.
Is the X910 the same as the X910S?
Yes, for this listing. X910S is the model on Akuvox's X910 datasheet, and the unit we sell is Akuvox part X910S-Tarnish-Standard1.
Does the X910 recognize faces?
No. Akuvox lists no face recognition for the X910. It reads cards, NFC phones, Bluetooth phones and QR codes, and it detects packages left on the step.
Can it go outside in the cold?
Yes. Akuvox rates it IP66 for weather and IK08 for impact, with a working range of -40 °F to 131 °F1.
How is the Control4 driver licensed?
Rivas Technology Group licenses the driver for each X910. It runs free for 14 days from install, then needs a license key to keep working. Call us for the driver price.
