Do we serve the Olympic Peninsula?

Yes, by appointment from Kent. Our office is at 415 Railroad Ave S in Kent, WA, and south King County and Pierce County are where we work every day. The Peninsula is different: we do not keep a crew there, so we plan projects in full days, schedule them ahead, and design the support around not needing a truck. Every project starts with Ajax security, then Control4, Wi-Fi, theater and shades. A recent Sequim project, outdoor directional Wi-Fi across a property with no cell signal, is on the Sequim outdoor Wi-Fi page.

Sequim

The rain shadow gives Sequim more sun and more glass than the rest of western Washington, and the homes around Sunland, Dungeness and the Bell Hill slopes are built for the view. The work there is motorized shades against low western light, outdoor audio for long dry evenings, and Ajax cameras on properties with acreage and long driveways. About two and a half hours from Kent.

Port Townsend

Victorian houses uptown and waterfront homes toward Fort Worden mean retrofits: wireless Ajax detectors that leave plaster alone, keypads in old boxes, and Wi-Fi that reaches through lath and brick without new cable everywhere. Newer homes near Cape George and Kala Point take a fuller Control4 build. About two and a half hours from Kent.

Port Angeles

The gateway to the Olympic National Park has older homes on the hill above the harbor and newer builds east toward Sequim. Wind and salt air set the hardware: exterior cameras and detectors rated for it, and a hub that keeps cellular live when the power blinks. Close to three hours from Kent, so Port Angeles installs are booked as two or three consecutive days.

What goes in first?

Security, because it protects everything else and because it is the system that has to work while you are away. An Ajax hub, door and window sensors, MotionCam detectors that deliver the first photo within 9 seconds1, a keypad and cameras that report people and vehicles. The Hub 2 Plus keeps Ethernet, Wi-Fi and two cellular SIMs live2, so it reports even when the internet drops. Monitoring is month to month through Becklar, a UL-listed central station. Control4 then adds one app and one remote for lights, shades, audio, TV, climate and locks; we are a Control4 Authorized Dealer, listed on Control4's integrator map. Pages: home security, Control4, Wi-Fi and networking, home theater and audio and motorized shades.

How does a Peninsula project run?

In three steps, each scheduled. First a phone consultation and photos or plans, so the site visit is not a guess. Second a site visit and a fixed proposal. Third an installation booked as consecutive days, with equipment staged, configured and labeled in Kent beforehand so the days on site go to mounting and programming.

How does support work at that distance?

Remote first. The Ajax hub reports every detector's health and battery. Control4 supports remote diagnostics and updates. The optional CURATOR remote care plan watches the network and fixes most issues before you notice them. When hands are needed, a service trip is scheduled; the support page has the rates.

What drives the cost?

Rooms, systems, wall access and what you already own, plus the full-day planning that distance requires. A single system is a fixed price after the site visit; a whole-home Control4 project is quoted room by room so you can phase it. We do not publish package prices on this page; the smart home installation cost page explains what moves the number, and the instant quote gives you one.

Questions we hear

Do you serve Sequim, Port Townsend and Port Angeles?

Yes, by appointment. Our office is in Kent, WA, two and a half to three hours away, so we plan Peninsula projects in full days rather than short visits. Tell us about the project and we will schedule a consultation.

How does a Peninsula project start?

With a phone call, then photos or plans, then a scheduled site visit. We send a fixed proposal after the visit. Installation is booked in consecutive days so the system is finished and programmed before we drive home.

What happens when something needs attention?

Most issues are handled remotely. The Ajax hub reports detector health and battery, Control4 supports remote access, and the optional CURATOR remote care plan watches the network. Service trips are scheduled when hands are needed.

Is monitoring under contract?

No. Monitoring through Becklar, a UL-listed central station is month to month, self-monitoring through the Ajax app has no fee, and the hardware is yours from day one.

Is the ferry a problem?

No. We route by road through Tacoma and the Hood Canal Bridge for Port Townsend and Sequim, and on to Port Angeles, so weather closures at the bridge are the one thing we plan around. Equipment is staged in Kent so a closure delays a day, not a project.

How much does a Peninsula smart home cost?

It depends on rooms, systems, wall access and what you already own, and Peninsula projects are planned in full days. We do not publish package prices; the proposal after the site visit is a fixed price, and the instant quote gives a starting number.
